The robust banana fiber as the main material, which impresses with its beautiful reddish-brown color and always keeps its shape, as well as the zigzag embroidery pattern inspired by the traditional batik art made of cotton cords make Sadara one of the highlights among our baskets.

Main material: banana fibre
Our baskets are made from plant fibres. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.
Banana fibres are the fibres of the layered trunks of agriculturally used banana trees. The intense brown color occurs naturally when the fibres are dried under the sun for about a week. Then the individual strips are rolled into the characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands. Only old, dying banana trees are used for this material. This enables these crops to have a second life as a dimensionally stable and robust raw material for many handcrafted baskets here at Soeji.
