➤ The sustainable main material: banana fibre
Banana fibre is a natural, untreated plant fibre that feels wonderfully natural. This abundant, renewable raw material comes from banana trees, which are widely cultivated in Indonesia. Its fibrous bark detaches from the trunk as it grows, is then collected and dried under the sun for around a week, creating the intense brown color naturally. The individual strips are then rolled into the characteristic, approximately 6 mm thick strands, which are processed into traditional basketry by our production partners in Java.
