Product description

Our rectangular rug Sewu is carefully crafted by hand from seagrass and recycled plastic. The intricate weaving process requires a great deal of patience and practice from the experienced artisans who specialize in working with such plant fibres.

It harmonizes with any furnishing style and blends effortlessly into your personal oasis. The neutral design with the four contrasting colored stripes never looks intrusive, but rather like a minimalist upgrade for your home. With its compact dimensions and rough texture, Sewu can also be used as a very special doormat in front of wide entrance doors.

Measurements & weight:

Length x width: 120x60 cm
Weight: 1.85 kg

Our products are artfully crafted individual pieces. They may vary slightly in size, color and shape due to the production by hand and natural variations in materials.

Main material: Seagrass

Our carpets are made from plant fibers. They therefore wonderfully smell and feel like nature.

What the basket makers usually refer to as “seagrass” is actually not an (under) water plant, but a small, palm-like plant that is widespread on sandy beaches in the tropics of Asia. The leaves of the plants, which are often cultivated by humans, are separated, cut into strips, dried and then processed by hand.

Other material: Recycled plastic
