➤ The sustainable main material: Raffia
The raffia used by our production partners is harvested from the leaves of the Gebang palm, which thrives in the tropical, swampy regions of Indonesia. The fan-shaped leaves are carefully collected without causing damage, and then cut into fine fibers. These fibers are gently sun-dried to enhance their natural strength and are either woven directly into baskets or twisted into cords, which are also used in various handmade home accessories like placemats. Raffia not only represents sustainable and stylish home decor but also preserves centuries-old craftsmanship and promotes the responsible use of natural resources.
